Personal Information
Hello. My name is Keith Kaiser and I am currently a graduating senior at
the Georgia Institute of Technology
(or Georgia Tech for short). I am majoring
in Industrial and Systems Engineering.
Georgia Tech has been #1 in this field for the last two years so I must
be doing something right. I finished working in the Georgia Tech Co-op
program in the spring of 1999. I worked for seven quarters at Smurfit-Stone
Container Corporation in Jacksonville, Florida. We were primarily responsible
for making and shipping out a tremendous amount of corrugated containers
for the likes of Bacardi, Little
Caesars, Papa Johns, and Pizza
Hut. We also provided a multitude of fruit and vegetable boxes for
the farmers of Florida. I primarily worked in quality control and was the
unofficial Director of Continuous Improvement my last quarter at the plant.
I enjoyed my experience working for a very large corporation and learned
many things about the real world. I would recommend co-oping to anyone
as it is an invaluable asset when trying to succeed in the job marketplace.
History
I was born in St. Charles, Illinois and lived for three years in Hanover
Park, Illinois outside of Chicago. My parents and I soon moved to Vandalia,
Ohio which is a suburb of Dayton. I lived there for about six years
where I participated in various sports such as baseball and soccer. I also
found my first best friend, Jeff Kreitzer, in Vandalia. Due to my father's
computer business, we moved 45 minutes south of Vandalia to Springboro,
Ohio. Springboro was a small town of about 3,000 people when I first
arrived but had grown to a city of over 10,000 people when I left eight
years later. I graduated from Springboro High School in 1995 and enrolled
at Georgia Tech two weeks later.
