The Parish of Gateshead is part of the Church of England?s Diocese of Durham, and is called by our Bishops to be a ?holy, learning and witnessing people?.
The Parish consists of two churches - St James & St Bede on Wordsworth Street and St Edmund?s on the High Street. Our churches have been linked for over 21 years, share clergy and a common life.
Our parish aim is : ?to build up the Church of God for its Mission in the Community?.
