HEY YOU!
Welcome to
DAVE'S STUPID WEB PAGE!!!
(Here's lookin' at you, Sammy)
"Charming To The Unsophisticated"
This was last updated on July 1, 2001
Hello. I'm Dave. Welcome to my stupid
web page. You may be saying
"Dave, why do you call this your stupid web page?" Well, to
that I say "Why not?"
It's been a really long time since I've updated this page. Sorry...I know you've all been waiting with baited breath for me to update this thing.
First and foremost, you should check out the following page I've made for the
RAMONES
They are definitely one of the best bands that ever graced the
face of the earth, bar none. Here's an old photo of them, circa. 1977:
JOEY RAMONE
1951 - 2001
GABBA GABBA HEY
And be sure to check out the Rhino Records' amazing new CD re-issues of the 1st four Ramones albums: "Ramones", "Leave Home", "Rocket To Russia", and "Road To Ruin"!!!!
If you know what's good for you, you check out these really great links:
-
DEVO
If you know me, then you probably are aware that I'm a very very very very very big fan of
Devo. There are many great fan-made Devo pages, such as
DEVOpolis or
the DEVO MuteWeb.
But we shouldn't forget about the OFFICIAL SITES!!! Check out Mark Mothersbaugh's Mutato Muzika web page...Mutato Muzika being the recording studio run by Devo's Mark
Mothersbaugh. There is also the brand new (as of June 2000) CLUBDEVO.COM!!!
If you want to see some Devo stuff from the 2 Devo shows
I saw in the summer of 1997, then click
here. But for now,
here is a picture of Devo from 1981 in their "New Traditionalists" outfits
And don't forget about Rhino Records' brand new Devo release, "Pioneers Who Got Scalped (An Anthology)". It's 2 CDs chock full o' Devo (lots of rare stuff too!!!). If you don't buy it, then you're probably on crack. And if you're really hardcore, you'll hop on over to Rhino Handmade and order yourself the exclusive internet-only Devo double-CD "Recombo DNA" that has more unreleased Devo material than you can shake a stick at.

IRON MAIDEN
rule. Period. Enough said.
Me and my brother had the opportunity to meet some members of Iron Maiden after a show in July 1999. To read about that show and to see photos of us with the band members,
And, hey, who says that Iron Maiden doesn't care.....
Be sure to buy the new Iron Maiden CD "Brave New World". Do it. Now. C'mon, what are you waiting for?
- JULIANA
HATFIELD
is a singer/songwriter who I think writes some of the best damn songs
that I've ever heard. Here are some photos of Ms. Hatfield for your
viewing enjoyment:
ROCHESTER GARAGE POP!!!
One of the things that I honestly love about the city I live in (Rochester, NY) is that there's
a whole slew of great garage pop/garage rock/garage punk bands that are from here, and subsequently play out a lot! I'm probably forgetting some, but here's a quick list, off the top of my head, of the great local bands:
The list is seemingly endless...To find out more about the great Rochester garage pop scene in general, check out the new Garage Pop Records Page (or the OLD Garage Pop Records Page) or the
Trashcan Records Page
And be sure to pick up these excellent recent releases on Garage Pop Records:
- "Garage Pop Records Rock & Roll Compilation"
- THE GRINDERS - "Somewhere Between Ape and Man"
- THE QUITTERS - "The Quitters' Second Album" (pictured below)
"WEIRD AL" YANKOVIC
Yes, indeed, it was only a matter of time before the world got...WEIRD AL.COM!!!
Here's one of my favorite pictures of Al:
VOIVOD
is a wonderful thrash band from Canada that are still going strong. Looking for Voivod links? Check out Missing
Sequences or the official Voivod.com. And if you should go to a Voivod show, bring
Piggy
a cheesecake and bring Away
a chocolate cake. Speaking of cheesecake, wanna hear Piggy
say that he loves cheesecake? If so, then click here
(now you see why I call this "Dave's stupid web page").
THE AMAZING CROWNS
are an incredible (and, uh, amazing) rockabilly-punk band from Providence, RI...check them out, because if you don't, then you're obviously a moron. Here's a couple pics of the Crowns, taken by my brother Steve:
THE DONNAS
play rock 'n' roll, pure and simple. If you don't like it, go to hell! They are one of the most fun bands that I've ever seen/heard. Check out their great new album "The Donnas Turn 21" (not to mention their excellent past albums, like "Get Skintight" and "American Teenage Rock 'n' Roll Machine"!). Here's another
Donnas link to enjoy. And a band photo:
SICK OF IT ALL
are *the* quintessential New York Hardcore band. There are none better. Period. As a side note, they were the first band I ever saw in a club...early 1990, opening for D.R.I. and Nasty Savage. They're still an incredible band. SOIA - Built To Last!
Hey! Are you curious to see what the 1980's band
LOVERBOY
looks like these days? So was I. So I went to see them in concert recently, and you can
find photos here
Here's some other interesting stuff to behold:

If you think that this page is stupid, well you ain't seen nothing!
My brother Steve
has his own web page that is at least as stupid as mine is.
Check it out
My cousin Christina
has a web page...it's not as stupid as mine, but you should definitely check it out. Maybe someday it'll be as stupid as mine...
And now, the section that I like to call "links to really f@#%ed up sites":
HEY! Do you remember Bert from Sesame Street? Did you know that
Bert is Evil?!? Yes, it's true. BERT IS EVIL! Check
it out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.
If ever a hairstyle deserved a website of its own, it's the mullet. Mulletsgalore.com...it will scare you as much as it will make you laugh.
Ernie's House of Whoopass...I think the name says it all.
Along the same lines as Ernie's site comes Fugly.com...uh.....
I'm not quite sure why I'm making this section, but....

gonna be seeing:
- The Hi-Risers at Richmonds in Rochester - 7/7/01

Yes, indeed. The almighty DEVO
played at a few of 1997's Lollapalooza shows. I've been waiting to see
Devo live for 15 years (since I was 7 years old) and I was lucky enough
to have been able to be at two of the shows:
- July 18, 1997 - Cleveland, OH
- July 19, 1997 - Pittsburgh, PA
The shows were really amazing. If you want to see some of my photos
from the Pittsburgh show, then click
here
Here's some of the music that I've been listening to lately, either because
I've purchased it recently or just because I've dusted it off and listened to it

always listening to the Ramones, Juliana Hatfield, and Devo.

There is no best of 1998, 1999, or 2000 lists, mainly because I'm lazy and don't want to make them. Sorry.
That's about it for now. Thanks for looking at my page. If you
have any comments, suggestions, etc., please
email me.
other spuds have been bored enough
to visit this site since I moved it to a new server in July 1999. And just
think...YOU'RE ONE OF THEM!!! (don't you feel special now?)
Infinite thanks to
Eric Foster
for helping me get this whole web page thing running. If you've ignored the
two links to his page that I've given so far, please click on
