Update: 8-10-01, FRIDAY

Hello. To answer the million dollar question right off the bat. Yes, i finally had the baby. I had been dilated 1 centimeter since June 8th. I orginally was given the due date July 4th. It was later changed to July 1st when i had a more detailed ultrasound. This makes since becos September 24, 2000, i was gettin mah groove on. That's the one i went by. So i walked around forever it felt with the baby on my bladder. I seriously had to pee every 5 minutes. Everyone swore i'd go early including me cos i was so BIG and so active. Towards the end i volunteered at Philly Pride Day, nothing...took bumpy car rides, nothing...walked, nothing...went swimming, nothing. Everybody and there sister gave me their opinions, advice, suggestions, horror stories, Do's and Don'ts....you know what i learned? Everybody is different. No female is the same. What will happen, will happen.

After being uncomfortable (puttin it mildly) for a month with severe bloated feet, spuratic contractions, and back pain July 5th 2001 about 2 am laying on the living room couch it seemed to get worse. I could no way sleep through those contractions. I had already had a false alarm. I woke Greg (my fabulous friend who'd been helping me) and told him they hurt more. I got up to have a ciggarette, drink some Sprite and i felt a little leakage. My water broke. It wasn't how people describe it and i was the only girl in my family they had it break naturally. Sure it enough, it was for real this time.

He looks a lot like his dad. I'm white, short, and chubby. Blonde hair, blue eyes. His dad is 6" 1", Puerto Rican, & African American. K Jr. is going to be tall and built like his dad. Handsome healthy lil devil he is. I'm a very lucky grrrl. I am a mom.

Sr. was unable to be at the hospital with me but he knew i was in labor before Kunta Jr. was born. Lots of pictures were taken and i was surrounded by family and friends. Mad shouts to: Greg, Jeska, Cindy, Gladys, Mom, Irene, Ricky, Dre', Linda, & Kunta Sr.
Kunta Jr. is a month old now. 12lbs 12ozs. I call him Popi. It's been rough and frustrating but i wouldn't change it for the world. He does a lot for a month old. He's strong. I love him. I lost 30lbs of my pregnancy weight. 29 more days and his dad will be home. I'm nervous, excited, and scared. He has not seen his son yet. I've been busy but i will try to update and add pics soon.
