Hec Hogan first came to attention in
1952 when he won the National 100y title, defeating Empire Games
Champion John Treloar, in controversial circumstances. Hogan was
accused of beating the gun, but showed over the next five years that
he was one of the world's fastest men. In 1954, Hogan set a World
Record for 100y and, in 1956, he won an Olympic Bronze Medal in the
100m.
