Modern Women Athletes
Welcome to my biographies of Australia's best track and field
athletes of all-time.
This page lists profiles for athletes from the 'Modern Era' from 1970 through to the
1990s.
I say 'Modern Era' as automatic timing and synthetic tracks became
common around the world.
On a more depressing note, so did the use of illegal performance
enhancing substances.
Some profiles are short - I'll add more in the future.
The profiles on
this page include:
-
Raelene
Boyle - Gold Robbery?
- Petra Rivers - Javelin Champ for two decades
- Adrienne Beames - pioneer woman marathoner
- Lyn Jacenko - First Australian World Cup champ
- Denise Robertson-Boyd - 22.35 for 200m in 1980
- Charlene Rendinda - 800m record for 24 years
- Sue Cook - World Record Walker
-
Debbie
Flintoff-King - a golden finish!l
- Glynis Nunn - beat Joyner-Kersee to win Gold
-
Lisa
