–
4 Sept 2002
Freeman withdraws
Olympic
champion Catherine Freeman today withdrew from the individual 400m
race at the World Cup in Madrid.
A
trial featuring Katerina Dressler, Susan Andrews, Rosemary Hayward and
Kiwi Rebecca Wardell in Spain will decide Oceania's entry in the
Cup. The new two-day Cup programme which features the women's
400m, 400m Hurdles and 800m events in close proximity has prevented
either Jana Pittman or Tamsyn Lewis from doubling at this competition.
