WA Athletics Champions
Decima was Western Australia's first champion athlete, but she was soon followed by others, such as the legendary Shirley Strickland, show made their own mark on the world athletics stage. Other WA champions of the past include Joan Woodland, Verna Johnston, Val Lawrence, Dixie Willis, Margaret Burvill, Chris Stanton, Vanessa Ward and Renee Poetschka. Kylie Wheeler and Nicole Mladenis are some of Western Australia's current star athletes.
