I lay dreaming one night...
when I heard the voice crying,
and imploring, "Let me pass by!"
She stood in a line
at the very end.
She was desparate and afraid
to die.
I looked up ahead
to see her destination;
and, what I beheld
was one hospital bed.
I watched, sadly,
how slowly her turn came;
and, how, when it did,
she was long since dead.
