Fifty years ago, on this very day,
You took your vows to love, honor, and obey.
Promising one another, all the love inside your heart,
This you would do until death do you part.
Fifty years ago, on this very day,
You vowed for better or worse, any come what may.
The ideal of love, to each it had their own,
What love meant, how it would be shown.
Fifty years ago, on this very day,
As man and wife, making your own way.
Two becoming one as you say I do.
Forsaking all others, to each other remain true.
Fifty years ago, on this very day,
May no man put asunder, for in god’s judgment it will lay,
Love is a mystery it’s wonder to behold,
Which only a true love, will allow it to unfold.
