Autumn pleasures, colorful leaves
Of scarlet, gold and tangerine hues
Pirouetting softly with the breeze,
Earth and foliage rendezvous
On any fall day.
Sounds and smells of the city,
Brouhaha of voices shouting,
Landscaped park so pretty
While on a family outing
On any fall day.
Fresh air fragrance in the suburbs,
Avenues of maple and oak,
Solitude of beauty superb,
Nature not tainted by smoke
On any fall day.
Country roads and hiking trails,
Splendor of painted scenery,
Echo of loquacious quail,
Blended lingering greenery
On any fall day.
Pumpkins, cornstalks, hay rides,
Morning dew and evening fog,
Equinox occurring with the tides,
Elegance of next season's prologue
On any fall day.
Life moves on, imitating nature,
Of beginning cycle to the end,
Intervalic finales premature,
Enigmas we try to comprehend
On any fall day.
