Old world plants
That are aromatic,
Genus of Lavandula,
That are romantic.
Breeds tender moods
And sentimental dreams,
Can be purchased and grown
To towering beams.
They lounge in the sun of the day.
The hotter exposure, the greater they play.
Maladies occur
When sun is disturbed;
Will rot under your eyes
To show they’re perturbed.
Are wonderful in rock gardens,
But not in soil that hardens.
This herb of dreams
Captures the essence of summer;
Becomes drought tolerant
Is extraordinary as a comer.
And it lingers,
Lounges, loves,
To breath in space.
Its aroma we place
In sachets, soaps, and medicinals.
This Lavender-from the Desert-of the Southwest.
