He shed His blood... from a Cross that gruesome day...
Blest is the spot... where His dear... body eventually lay.
Pensive in thought and mind... let us remember still...
For our soul... this Christ... shed His blood... upon a hill.
Did He think on you too? In every fiber of His being...
Bringing Satan’s deeds to naught... new souls seeing.
We were there... in His mind... you and I that awesome day
When Satan and his men vowed to take our Savior away.
The Cross-was meant to be; it was intended from God alone...
No man... no angel gave advice... God was making a Throne.
A Throne where we may kneel; there... we worship a King.
A Glorious... king of Heaven alone... none other fit to reign.
His blood prevails; He will return in all His Glory again...
Separating the sheep from the goats... forgiving sin.
He is our Savior; our Christ’s blood cleansed us pure...
If, we only we accept Him... with a spirit loving… and demure.
They beat Him and scourged Him... possibly pain in His heart today...
Of the beatings and the crown of thorns... worn on the way
To an old cross... with nails in His hands and a hole in His side...
Nails in His feet... to hang there... while He suffered and died
He was buried in a tomb... with a huge stone at the mouth... a prison?
As, Mary found an Angel sitting aside... telling her Jesus had arisen.
Said go tell the disciples of the event here today; and Mary went and did say
What the Angel had told her of Jesus and the tomb that day.
Then the Veil was rent into... split from top to bottom you see...
Jesus cried... Eloi. Eloi, Lama sa-bach’tha-ni my God… why hast Thou forsaken me?
The rains came down; washed His blood from the Holy ground...
As Saints came from their graves... and was Heaven bound.
We apply it to our hearts... devout and loving... for this Christ who died...
For the forgiveness of sin... of all who will come... and the thief... crucified
His love and forgiveness is for everyone... whose heart will say
That He is Christ... who hung on an old Cross... on a long-ago day.
