Feng Shui |
Feng Shui is an ancient oriental art whereby the positioning and placement of objects in a room can have an effect upon the Chi (or energy) in that room and that certain sections of your room/house relate to certain sections of your life; romance, career, health, wealth etc! It is supposed to be very effective, but even if you dont believe, the items and ideas are still creative and nice to look at it your room :) and can be a nice theme!! |
LOVE AND ROMANCE!!! **Here is a great link for improving your romance through feng shui at Get Crafty** ~~~~ In order to ensure a healthy and happy relationship, the concept of Feng Shui requires a few things of you in your house/room. * Clutter is supposedly bad for your life, and so they recommend keeping places organised and tidy, and to clear rubbish out from under your bed and off the floor and put into storage in your closet or drawers. * The specific area of the room/house that correlates to romance and relationships is the southwest area, so get your compasses out :) * In this area, hanging crystals as mobiles or as ornaments are good as they reflect the light and create colour in the room, encouraging energy flow in that corner! * Also placing ornaments/pictures and other images of lovebirds is good! * Windchimes and mobiles add movement into that corner, also aiding good chi flow. * The colour red is very symbolic of love, and so any items that are red, such as a red ribbon, or cushion/lampshade etc ppaced in this area helps. * Burning incense is a good way to "cleanse" your room, to remove and bad vibes, say after an argument, or to clear away your loneliness etc, particularly ylang ylang and jasmine sticks for romance! * Plants and flowers are very good for a room, and placed in the relationship corner should be red or pink flowers in a white vase! * Have a happy picture of you two in your bedroom, but if you have any children, keep pictures of them out of your room, as the bedroom is about you being a couple, and not a parent, if you want to keep your relationship strong and loving! * If possible, it is best to avoid sharp corners on objects, try and have mainly rounded/soft furniture, round mirrors, tables, etc... * Paint the bedroom strong colours; pink, red, orange, yellow, lavander, peach, terracota or cream..... these are all excellent colours for a happy couples' bedroom! * The Chinese believe electrical goods to emit harmful energy into the room, and so recommend that T.V's and computers not be placed there, and if they have to be there, then lock them away in a cupboard or have a unit with a door on so you can lock them up when you aren't using them! It may all sound a bit wierd to you, but you dont have to be serious about the practice, it can just be a cool theme for the room, and adds a different touch :) |
