Exploring Corfu
When visiting Kerkyra you absolutely must:
Rent a car or a bike and drive around the island
There are so many good places to view.
kerkyra Town
The first place to visit is the town.
built by the Venetians (1550)
Its old town, with its labyrinth narrow streets,
There is also a casino , can now be found at the Holiday Palace Hotel  Open all year  Located in Kanomi, 4 Kms (2 1/3 miles) from Corfu Town, 4 kms (2 1/2 miles) from the Airport with elevated panoramic view of the sea, overlooking on one side the famous Convent of our Lady Vlacherea and Odysseus Island beyond and on the other side a beautiful view of Lake Halikiopoulou and distant hills.
Visit the Church of St.Spyridon The patron saint of Kerkyra is Sr. Spyridon, which presumably explains why virtually every male on the island is called Spyros. They`re everywhere
the Ioanian University.(Departments of History,Interpreter`s school).
Spianada (Esplanade) main square which is one of the most beautiful in Greece.The famous part from the Spianada is the cricketfield.
Visit the Old Fortress  The old fortress was built in 1550 Check out the new fortress The top part of the fortress was built in 1815 by the brittish army
The old part of the town, much of it built between 1577 and 1630
The old town also called : (Campiello).

Agios Gordis (15km).
West coast of Corfu,
Be careful of the huge waves if you are not an experienced swimmer.

Agios Ioannis (16km).
AQUALAND : The most amazing adventure waterpark in Europe.
His location is perfectly fitted in the middle of Corfu island, on the main road to Glyfada and its easy to reach wherever you are.
If you are looking for a great time, non-stop games, action, fun, adventure but also for relaxation, excellent food, cool refreshing drinks then you must visit Aqualand .
Open from May to October 7 days a week from 10.00 am to 18.00 pm

Agios Stefanos (37km)
Agios Stefanos (37km) From Corfu City
Is a small fishing village, located on the  North West coast of Corfu
not to be confused with one of the same name on the North East coast. Agios means Saint in Greek.
This little fishing village has now become a very popular 'up market' resort with many hotels and stylish villas for rent. The bay can is very  busy during the day with lots of visiting traffic .
There locals are welcome the visitors with the warmth and hospitality Greece is famous for.
This village is extremely pretty and is situated with the hills sweeping down either side. A car or boat is essential for exploring.
Relaxing evenings can be spent in one of the many
Tavernas looking across.
Their friendly owners touting for trade.
Mainly attractive to couples but popular with larger families during school holidays.
St Stefanos could be considered as a great 'base' to stay - offering plenty locally to keep everyone happy !!!!
Benitses (13 km).
Another popular pleasure resort and beach with numerous
restaurants, tavernas, bars, clubs ensuring a really lively night life.
At the SHELL MUSEUM You can see a lot of : Such as shells, corals, fossils, tooth of sharks, crabs, lobsters, snakes, starfishes, sponges
and other little organism. And a lot more.it is open every day from 10.00 am to 20.00 pm

Dasia (13km).
A nice village. Beach with olive trees.
Nice hotels bars discos and restaurants.

Ermones (15 km).
The legend the place where Odysseus met Nausica. Also you can visit the monastery of Mirtidion.
Evidence of Neolithic habitation was unearthed here.

Gastouri (11km).
This lovely village is famous for being the setting for the Palace Achilleion. Achilion is the Palace that was built as a summer resort for the queen of Austria-hungary, and wife of Kaiser of Austria, Sissy.Unique status of Achileas and more ancient Greek portrets are found around the Palace and its extraordinary gardens.
You can see a small collection of imperial souvenirs, terraced
gardens and a splendid view across the Corfu Channel to the mountain range of Chimara.
Acillion there they filmed a scene with Roger Moore for the James
Bond movie - For Your Eyes Only.
It is now used for international meetings and conferences
Kanoni (4km).
This is one of the most beautiful sites on the island.
The Vlahernon Monastery is built on a little island joined to the mainland by a centuries old promontory.
Very close is the beautiful and famous Pontikonisi (Mouse island), with a 13th century church, you can be reached by boat.

Kassiopi (36km).
Another charming fishing village.
A nice little marina and traditional village.

Kontokali and Gouvia (9km).

North of the town, two villages offering a large selection of restaurants, tavernas, beaches, marine, bars, discos etc.

Kavos (49km).
Very popular tourist village for young people with many bars and clubs for crazy nights.also nice beach for your lazy days and many more cool activities ...

Magoulades (37km).
Traditional village between Sidari Arillas.Magoulades was founded 4000 years ago 
Nice views to the sea ,special
from Merovigli or Souli.With wild flowers
and many olives trees. 
Also you can visit the Monastery of Ipsili Theotokos,on the top of the hill (nice views
from here).  
Magoulades is my village.!!!...

Mesoggi (22km).
A beautiful village close to the sea. Many tourist facilities and hotels and a very nice  beach.You will find the only significant lake of the island, Lake Korysion.

Paleokastritsa (26km).
The very popular little village on rocks facing the sea.
They`re many fish tavernas restaurants bars shops atc.
Also you must visit the famous monastery of Panagia Paleokastritsa. The monastery was built in 1228 bc.
Pelekas (13km).
Nice village perched on the top of a hill with incredible view and unforgettable sunsets
(Pelekas is famed for its sunset views).
Glyfada beach is very popular.

PEROULADES(35km).
Is situated north-west of the Island.Here you can enjoy the natural beauty of surrounding area, the sea and the most spectacular sunset of the island

Roda (31km).
Tourist Place with some  nice  beach
with tavernas, bars,greek club with live band,discos,resturants

Sidari (31km).
Tourist centre with some of the most incredible beaches of the
whole Mediterranean!
The Canal of Love (canal d`amour as it is called.) is a near by magnificent beach where you can find your partner in love, swim through this to find your true love,special if you are together.!!! Don`t miss it.
From Sidari you can take a boat to the three litlle islands of Othoni, Erikousa and Mathraki north of Kerkyra.
they are many nice tavernas, bars, discos, restaurants, shops atc.
