Your Fire Department is invited to join the Southeastern Firefighters Muster Association. What is a Muster? Musters consist of several team and individual events in which firefighters compete in performing specific firefighting related skills in the quickest time possible.

Musters are for the public as well as firefighters. They are a means for promoting fire safety and education through demonstrations and hands-on activities. The public gets to see firefighters and equipment up close in a relaxed and fun atmosphere to learn more about what they do.

Musters also help raise money for the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation and local Volunteer Fire Departments.

The Association holds an awards banquet at the end of the year. The awards given out include ribbons for event record holders, unique trophies for the top three teams and a traveling trophy for the State Champions with all the previous champion’s names engraved on it. The State Championship trophy was donated by the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation.

Enclosed you will find an application for membership to the Southeastern Firefighters Muster Association and a schedule of local musters. Upon membership, you will receive the Association’s general rules, event rules, score card and a copy of the state records to compare your times to.

So what are you waiting for? Get your best firefighters together to show off their skills. Remember, your department’s name could be the next one on the Championship trophy.
