Old Tbilisi

Saperavi is a grape variety reasonably unique to Georgia and will seldom be found in any other wine making countries in the world. It is distinctive in it's fullness flavour and colour along with it's smooth tannin finish. Georgian Wines and Spirits search the whole of Georgia to find the best Saperavi in the country that is then fermented at controlled temperatures to maintain the freshness of fruit and flavour. The same family group harvests the grapes from small family vineyards cared for over        generations. The family's are born into the growing of grapes and have a strong appreciation for the necessity of low crops to maintain maximum flavour and colour. The grapes were vinified at several wineries around Georgia under the watchful eyes of the GWS winemaking team. After fermentation and the natural stabilisation of the cold winter the wine was blended to maintain the intense fruit present on the nose and palate. A touch of oak maturation and full malo-lactic fermentation gives the wine added complexity and flavour. The wine deep purple when young and has the ability to age slowly maintaining the purple hues into it's 4 and 5 years while developing a soft burgundy tone.
