Brief Player Report:
Former Hearts player Johnston will finally become a Rangers player on July 1st when he moves from Sunderland under the Bosman ruling. Johnston has been frozen out at Sunderland since early in the season after changing his mind about signing a new contract, amid rumours of an approach from Rangers. The player has had a loan spell with Birmingham this season and is currently enjoying a similar spell at Bolton, whom he has helped into the semi-finals of the FA Cup. Johnston is expected to challenge Andrei Kanchelskis for the right wing spot next season although he can also play on the left wing or through the middle. After signing the pre-contract agreement with Rangers Johnston said:
"Everyone knows I have supported Rangers since I was a boy. This is a dream come true for me."
