Brief Player Report:

Barry Nicholson made his senior debut for Rangers in the 4-0 League win at Dundee in January 1999.

Nicholson, a midfield player, came through the junior ranks at Ibrox and was quick to praise the Club's youth policy following his debut.

He said: "It's one of the best in the country. The training's excellent and you're always going to learn things from the better players we have."

It clearly worked for Nicholson who made a confident start to his League career.

He said: "I was a wee bit nervous during the warm-up but, with all due respect to Dundee, I found it surprisingly easy. Maybe it was because I was playing with such quality players."

Nicholson added: "I just want to remain involved in the first team now, even if it's on the bench.

"Dick Advocaat is an excellent manager and if you're doing things wrong he'll explain it to you and tell you what he wants."
