Notes
The Lark is a two-seat medium performance sailplane with a
semi-retractable main wheel and a heavy T-tail that remains on the ground when
the plane is occupied. This plane has flaps, adjustable from -5 to +15 degrees
in steps of 5 degrees, and air brakes. Two notches of flap (10 degrees) give
this plane excellent thermalling capabilities even in weak air at under 45 kts.
With negative flap and 70 kts., the Lark penetrates very well upwind or through
sink. In an emergency, the Lark can be gently landed with the gear retracted
since the wheel does not retract fully.
These figures are not guaranteed to be accurate. Consult your owners manual
and relevant placards for specifics for your particular aircraft.
