Arenas is a great slasher and leaper. Over Michigan State he set an NCAA semifinal record for steals with 6 of the Wildcats' Final Four victory. He conquered the high school ranks in California and three times he was named to the All-Los Angeles City Team for using his slashing style to score against his opponents. This 6-3 guard with his lightning quick movements led Arizona in scoring at 16.2 per game and shot 48% from the field. He was named Honorable Mention Associated Press All-American and First Team All-Pac-10 Conference. He was also named NABC All-District 15 First Team, First Team All-America by The Sporting News. He posted 20 points, five steals and four rebounds in the NIT Championship game victory over Kentucky.

The lightning quick 6-3 guard led Arizona in scoring at 16.2 per game and shot 48% from the field. In the final 21 games for Arizona, Arenas averaged 18.5 points and 58% shooting from the field. This followed up his freshman campaign where he put up 15.4 a night.
