Composer  GILLIAN CARCAS
Living and working in England, I have composed nearly fifty pieces of music. Compositions range from small chamber works to full orchestral pieces and I have composed for a variety of musical forces and genres.

Performances of my work have been given by many ensembles, including EOS, Double Image,  the Bingham Quartet, Synchronia, the New London Chamber Choir, the West Sussex Philharmonic Choir, the Durham Singers, Rosy Voices, Jane's Minstrels and Ensemble Alternance.  Past commissions including a brass fanfare, a chamber piece for Gemini and a song cycle for Musica Mundi.

Composition prizes include co-winner of the 1996 Cornelius Cardew Composition Competition.

Recent work includes a new percussion piece, a work for harpsichord which was premiered by Jane Chapman and a piece for orchestra.  Presently I am working on a new piano trio.
