It was a night to remember on 6th May 2004 for U.S Friends fan as the finale episode was aired on the NBC Channel in the states.
The cast watched it together. They quoted "They felt emotional". 3,000 fans watched it sitting on Blankets in a park overlooking New York's Hudson rive. They also ran iton a Huge screen in Time Square.
It's estimated between 50m and 70m people saw the last episode  in the states,  but the most popular series finale for "M*A*S*H" back in 1983- 105m viewers tuned in to watch it.
The cast also made an emotional appearance on "The Tonight show with JayLeno"

Matt LeBlanc admitted it was a bit much:
"It was ovwehelming I mean it was fulfilling, satisfying"

Matthew Perry added "I shed a few tears To see these relationships wrap up is just too much to take".

I was just glad I got to watch the final show with the whole cast and the writers," said David Schwimmers.

The cast were expecting over 50m viewers to watch it, meaning rival networks aren't even bothering to compete. One says it might even broadcast footage of its own staff watching "Friends".

The big question is- will Ross and Rachel end up together?

Jennifer Aniston who plays Rachel says "I'll always be grateful to show for launching her career, I'll don't know if it's the character that changed me but the experience has absolutely changed me just in terms of what the show brought to my life and how  I evolved as a person with this cast, how I work as an actor, what I strive for, what I learnt from these actors about comed."

Matt LeBlanc is moving to LA for his spin-off series "Joey", but he says owes alot to "Friends". I think working with these five really different and unique actors, I've really grown alot as an actor. I felt more confident than I ever felt.

David Schwimmer seems to be finding it hard to give up the character and he says he and Ross aren't so different. "The Geeky scientist guy, thats me. I still watch the Discovery Channel! I'm just still that guy, I love the sciences, I'm a hopeless romantic, and I also take family and responsilbilty very seriously."

Matthew Perry says both he and his "Friends" character Chandler have changed over the seroes. "I think the character of Chandler has grown up alot. For me in my personal life the only different is I don't fel I can joke around alot  to fill the awkward  silences now, so I personally would make much less internesting sitcom character now!" He's hoping the stardom he's enjoyed through the show will keep him gainfully enjoyed for now on:

We've been given this great gift here, where we don't have to do, crappy movies". We can hold out and do stuff that we like, theatre or TV or movies or anything we like".

Lisa Kudrow has been pondering the question of what to do next with her life as both an actress and mother. "Professionslly, who knows, we're not getting younger. But I just imagine some independent films. May be I'll start writing by then. Persomally I have a teenage boy so i'll monitoring his every move."

Courtney Cox has been talking about how desperate she is to have kids.

she says "Like her 'Friends' character Monica - she's finding it impossible to have kids. She says she's had a number of miscarriages and she and hubby David Arquette will try anything, including artificial insemination or adoption, but if they manage it naturally, she's a bit concerned about what the kid will look like:
"Before adoption I think I would try, I don't know why probably because I want his genes, I would try a surrogate before that. But then absolutely adoption. I hope that it has David's creativity and his mind. We both have real short legs, so we want longs leg, I don't know where they're going to come from. We have long bodies too - we're going to have little muchkins, I don't know what they're going to be like!"

The final episode of "Friends" will be shown in the UK  on 28th May 9pm on Channel 4 and 10pm on  E4
