Girl Scout Camporee 2000 - May 12th thru 14th, 2000
Our Girl Scout Troop 2616 attended Camporee 2000 at Camp Sycamore. It is a beautiful camp facility located right on Sycamore Creek in Cheatham County, Tennessee. We didn't get to go to Camporee last year because the Girl Scout Camp was badly damaged by a tornado. It has been rebuilt better than ever.
We stayed at Camp Sycamore for three days and two nights. We got to do lots of interesting things - crafts, flag ceremonies, singing, campfires, color guard, and more. There was a big storm Friday night that made us run for cover. We also played on the swinging bridge over Sycamore Creek and made Tie Dyed T shirts. We got to pet the horses, although we didn't ride any this trip. We will get to ride them when we come back for summer camp. We also had a Bridging Ceremony for several of our Girl Scouts. We had everyone from Daisies to Seniors at this years Camporee.
We took lots of photos for our web site, over 200 in fact. We hope you can take a few minutes and check out our photos and stories from Camporee 2000. There are lots of pics on each page, they are all thumbnailed but it still may take a minute to load. Just click on the the thumbnailed photographs for the full size image and the captions. While this site was built and maintained by Junior Troop 2616, there are pics of lots of other scouts from the area attending Camporee this year.
