Bulletin Bag

Ms. Sherry came up with this idea when trying to create a recyclable ribbon board. Can be hung on a bedroom door, a big bulletin board, a bed post, etc. Great place to stick or tack notes or pictures, mini chalkboard for reminders, the pocket holds larger notes, pictures, chalk, or pencils, and the inside of the bag holds a notebook, diary, etc. It's completely up to the girl!

Recycled Items
CD
Gift Bag
Ribbon
Cork Board Scrap
Foamies Scraps

Supplies
Paper Fastner
Four Mini Binder Clips
Hot Glue Gun
Scissors
X-Acto Knife
Kitchen Towell or Scrap of Thick Foam
Chalkboard Paint
Foam Paint Brush

Directions
1)  Paint one side of the CD with chalkboard paint. (NOTE: We did this prior to the event. It took two coats of paint to cover the CD and approximately half an hour for each coat to dry to touch. Painting the shiny side of the CD with a foam paint brush gave us the best results and coverage.)

2)  Lay the folded up gift bag in front of you. The bottom of the bag should create a "pocket". We are only using the "top crease" of the gift bag when attaching items. You should still be able to insert an item (notebook, diary, etc.) inside the gift bag without having to remove anything or opening the bag up.

3)  Take a piece of ribbon and use a binder clip to secure one end to the upper left corner of the gift bag.

4)  Take the other end of the ribbon and bring it as close to the bottom right corner as you can behind the bag "pocket". Secure with a binder clip.

5)  Take a piece of ribbon and use a binder clip to secure one end to the upper right corner of the gift bag.

6)  Take the other end of the ribbon and bring it as close to the bottom left corner as you can behind the bag "pocket". Secure with a binder clip

7)  Carefully insert the kitchen towell or scrap of thick foam inside the gift bag so it is directly behind where the two pieces of ribbon intersect.

8)  CAREFULLY poke a hole through the two intersecting pieces of ribbon and the front of the gift bag with the X-Acto knife. Carefully poke the paper fastner through the hole and secure on the inside of the bag. Remove the kitchen towell or scrap of foam.

9)  Hot glue the cd to the bag pocket.

10)  Cut your cork board scrap to the desired shape and hot glue to the bag pocket.

11)  Cut out a flower (or shape of choice) from the foamie scrap and hot glue in desired location.
