What are S.W.A.P.S.? Note: Troops 1416 and 950 do not claim to have originated any of the S.W.A.P.S. below unless noted. The ideas to make them were taken from multiple websites (original creations are given credit) or were received during a S.W.A.P. exchange.

Arc of Triumph
A white bread tab and Sharpie marker is all you need! (March 2007)

Alligator/Dinosaur
A green bread tab and googlie eye is all you need! Add bits of foam to create horns or spots for a different dinosaur. (March 2007)

Celebrate Girl Scouts!
We created this version from other similar S.W.A.P.S for our 2006 Girl Scout Jamboree. The event was for potential girl scouts and their parents to find out more about scouting and returning scouts to show what it's about and have fun. The picture is a bit fuzzy, but we drew simple faces on the pink and orange beads. As representation of the different scouting levels we used blue (Daisy), brown (Brownie), and green (Junior/Cadette/Senior). (August 2006) UPDATE We have included this in our "Who is a Daisy Scout? You can be a Daisy Scout!" information bags that are being handed out to each girl at our local school's Kindergarten registration for the 2007-08 school year!

Night Hike
In celebration of our very first night hike, the Leaders presented the girls with these S.W.A.P.S. during our Bridging Ceremony on the last day of our end of the year campout. (June 2006)

Angel ~ designed by Miss Sherry
Uncooked Bow Tie pasta, small wooden plug, small googlie eyes, scrap of sparkle yarn, blue marblized star bead. Brush the pasta and wooden plug with Elmer's Glitter Bond Paste*. Let completely dry. With a low heat glue gun assemble the angel. (These were presented to the girls after their December 2005 Investiture/ Rededication Ceremony by the Leaders.)
*A mixture of Elmer's Glue, water, and fine glitter may be used as a substitute for the Bond Paste.

Crafters Trashbag
We slid a jewelry pin through the balloon neck and hot glued them together on the inside. This leaves room to hot glue your craft scraps to the inside front of the balloon neck and jewelry pin to hold it all together. (Made at the April 2006 Recycling With Arts and Crafts District Event.)

Frankenstein's Monster
1" x 1" square of green foam and black foam, 2 googlie eyes, and circle of purple foam cut with a regular hole punch. Cut the black foam square in half with a pair of zigzag craft scissors. Cut the purple foam circle in half with straight scissors. Assemble with glue and draw scar marks with fine tipped sharpie.

Silly Spider Web
Our silly spider web was altered from a design at www.makingfriends.com submitted by Anddora of Troop 80 in Palmyra, MI. We used glitter bond glue to add an extra sparkle to the toothpicks, "boo!" confetti, piece of 1" x 1" black foam, and added cut pieces of "spider web" found during the Halloween season. (Made at Creepy Cookie Kick-off District Event in October 2005)

Jeweled Jeans
Pair of old blue jeans which could no longer be patched, rick rack scraps, and left over jewels and confetti from previous craft projects. (Made at April 2004 Recycled Arts and Crafts District Event) Get jean pattern here.

Lobster
Twist top of an individual plastic Kool-aide drink bottle (the Leaders spray painted them red ahead of time) and added googlie eyes. Great for a "Daisy Scout First S.W.A.P."! (Made at April 2004 Recycled Arts and Crafts District Event)

S'more
1" x 1" square of tan felt and dark brown felt and a cotton ball. (Troops 950 and 1416 made these to swap at the May 2005 Overnight Camping District Event)

Flip Flops
Foam scraps, craft wire, and seed beads. (Made at February 2006 Beauty Make-over District Event)

Swedish Cheese
Received at 2005 World Friendship Celebration.

Troop T-Shirt
Made as first year Brownies prior to our Investiture Ceremony. (December 2003) Directions can be found at Mini T-Shirt at www.makingfriends.com
