| 2001: Troop 1071 made St. Patrick's Day placemats for our local Senior Center's St. Patricks Day Party. We made an assembly line and mass produced probably 100 placemats that day. The Senior's were glad to have us help out and we were glad to do it. Hopefully we made their party a success. Great Work girls!!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2001: Troop 1071 donated $50.00 to the Juliette Low World Friendship Fund. This fund was created in Honor of the GS Founder,Juliette Low, and helps girls all around the globe who cannot financially afford Girl Scouting. I spoke to the girls about this fund, but it was their idea to donate their funds toward this. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2002: Troop 1071 helped with our neighborhood food drive. We helped feed 17 families a full Thanksgiving Dinner as well as some basic household produts and food items. With the help of the rest of hte troops in our neighborhood and local companies we were able to collect items, pack the boxes and deliver them to needy families. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2002: Troop 909 and 1071 went back to our local Senior Center and caroled for them. We helped trim their tree and spent a few moments gettign to know some of the residents. The girls were welcomed with open arms and asked to come back any time. We are talking about helping them with their bingo night soon. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2003: Troop 909 helped pack goody bags for the walkers in the Walk against Diabetes. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2003: Troop 909 helped plant flowers, clean up trash and spiff up the Gibraltar Community Center that we use frequently for events. This was a great project because the girls can drive by this or ride their bikes by it and see what a great job they have done. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2003: Troop 909 worked at the Gibraltar 4th of July Festival selling jewelery and other trinkets and made $300.00 for our troop. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2003: Troop 909 collected papertowels and other household items for the Parson School Food Drive. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2004: Troop 909 made 120 Easter Cards and delivered them to the elderly residents at Hearthstone Assisted Living. They were so glad to see us. We compiled an Easter Songbook and sang Easter Songs to the Residents as well. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2004: Collected items for Penrickton Center for Clind Children and spent a few hours with the residents there. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2006: Assisted with Bingo Night for our local Assisted Living Center | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2006: Made 20 blankets for babies at a womens facility. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
