Bright, blue skies always seem to come your way
When all my days seem to come dark and grey
My glass was half empty whileyours was half full
Your world treated you kindly while mine treated me cruel
But happiness was something you've tried to share with me
Telling me I could break my chains of sadness; that I too could be free
Giving up on me never crossed your mind
A kind of loyalty a friend has which is rare to find
When I was out in the cold, you kept me warm
When it was raining, you sheilded me from the storm
You were the only one who believed in me
You sw something im my soul that no one else could see
When my song ended, you told me to keep on singing
So I promise to search for you a life worth living
But then your luck took a turn for the worse
Everything good in your life went in reverse
And now I watch buildings crumble around you
You're panicking, screaming, and don't know what to do
A blazing fire appears in front of your eyes
It's fueled by secrets, deceits, and lies
You fall on your knees and begin to weep
Salty tears are too hard too keep
The end of your world appears to be near
But the wailing of your cries reach my ear
I hold you close and dry your face
While holding your hand as we see this broken place
Your eyes ask me why life has to be this way
I tell you not to worry; that tomorrow's another day
You laugh at me and say that I'm only dreaming
Saying I should give up my hopes and stop believing
But I say no because you me once before
That despite life's ugliness, there's always soemthing beautiful to live for
For you, I will be strong
And tell you what I knew all along
That a person like you doesn't deserve a world like this
You should be surrouned by love, serenity, and bliss
I know that life won't go as planned
And how ignorant people will never understand
So as I promised you from the beginning
I will search for you a life worth living
My Promise
