I saw you today which made me smile
But like the other times, it lasted only for awhile
We joked around from time to time
That's when I knew everything was fine
But then it changed and you became distant
I knew something was wrong from that very instant
So I stood as far as I could to be away from you
That was the only thing I could think of to do
I came by to see if everything was the name
I knew everything was better because you said my name
But you changed again like a broken sink
By then I didn't know what to think
So I decided to tkae things slow
Even though my mind told me to go
I stayed awhile to see if you would change
Hoping your feelings would rearrange
But everything stayed the same
And got tired of playing the waiting game
Then I left and saw your face, which made me sad
I felt crushed thinking of what we could have
And then you said that you had to leave
Hearing you say that was hard to believe
So I slowly walked towards you to say good bye
I closed my eyes tightly trying hard not to cry
But then you turned and smiled simply at me
I'm never going to understand you
And I guess that's how it will always be
