The 1/2 VW engine by Morry Hummel has an excellent track record for reliability and fuel economy. It is a 4-stroke engine that burns av- gas, ( Morry says that regular gas can be used but it has to be high octane, others say they use high octane auto-fuel/100 LL mix.). there is no mixing of oils in the gasoline like 2-stroke engines and the fuel consuption is lower than 2-strokes because all the fuel is burned, not part of it used for lubrication. Which means more flying time in the air on less fuel !! |
