Originating in the 16th Century within the Thuringian forest, the first glass-factories; and so the basis of the glass-blowers and glass-makers.
About the middle of the 19th Century developed the invention of the glass-Blower-lamp itself. The first glass-factories were built in Lauscha and Ilmenau. Corresponding to the requests of the market and the local realities the production of art-glass and the glass-apparatus-construction originated.
The art-glass-area and the manufacture of glass-figures, glass-animals, manifold hollow-glass-forms and the production of Christian-tree-adornment began.. In the association of the art-glass-blowers.
