"For You" I think we deserve to be happy. I'm sure that there are rainbows in all our futures. We draw joy and pleasure from our friends and loved ones. We extract strength from those spirited ones. We attain knowledge from those who are so wise and insightful. We develop the ability to love from those who are affectionate, warm and just plain kind. We receive encouragement from people who are discerning, understanding and sensitive. Like a seed planted in new soil, we hunger, thirst and crave for nourishment to assist us in reaching our sole potential. I think it is okay to be afraid. I'm sure that we are not required to be strong and brave all the time. This world that we live in makes it near impossible to be happy continuously. We need to take time to grieve and hurt. Only then do we realize we are real. For who on earth doesn't hurt at some point in time? Who is fortunate enough to walk through life without experiencing grief? When you do meet them, please introduce me. I think life is too fragile. . . to fill it with overwhelming attributes that consume us and have the ability to destroy that beautiful being that we were intended to be. In this diversion called life, we have choices. We either choose to be happy with all its fine connotations or we can choose to be scared, afraid, alone. That sounds so sad, don't you think? The sad thing is that often this choice is forced upon us by unforeseeable circumstances. We are often robbed of our joy and compelled to be paralyzed by conditions and predicaments beyond our control. Yet, I think and I know that we are able to overcome. I am confident that just as that seed grew into that beautiful palm tree, the sustenance that we received is able to sustain us through those incidents when we are immersed in fear. I believe that our family, our "friends" have become the building blocks that have facilitated our construction. From this I have developed the conclusion that when we are at our lowest, feeling despair, reach out to those who have provided you the essentials to be strong, happy, insightful, caring, loving and kind. Grab onto all the exceptional things that have made you. . . You! Perfection is only for the One who created us so never expect to reach that plateau. My suggestion to you is to be the best you can be. Never be afraid to cry and laugh whenever you are able. Whatever you do, never allow the details of this world transform what you've become to me. . . "My friend." |
