Internships Available with Great Lakes NOW

Great Lakes NOW is always looking for enthusatic, dynamic, young (you define young) feminist women and men to be interns with our States and Chapters. Sorry these are unpaid positions, but we have always been able to shape the internship to fit whatever the criteria is for your academic or community service programs. We look forward to working with you to incorporate your needs, requirements, and desires into meaningful and rewarding activism within a formal internship program.

Here are some of the types of activities NOW interns participated in:

Participated in a major presentation to the NOW National Board of Directors, submitting a chapter bid to host the a National NOW Conference.

Designed a brochure explaining how a state legislature processes a bill.

Particpated in decision-making leadership roles in the Young Feminist summits held in Washington DC.

Here are some activities we are looking for interns to do:

Work on our web site.

Work with press/media coordinators in States and Chapters

Work on State and Chapter newsletters

Work on lobbying efforts at the various Statehouses and also with local city governments

Work on organizing regional, state, and chapter actions with seasoned feminists.
