Notre Dame ‘Le Theatre Du Vampire’
Osmose, 1999
Gloon:
Notre Dame is the dark mischievous love child of former King Diamond/Merciful Fate nutter Snowy Shaw and blends 60s horror flick cheese with gothic and black undertones to create a spooky if not totally serious vamperic romp.  Le Theatre Du Vampire sees the French bloodsuckers return for their second helping and morph into a heavier more humorous beast. Opening with the rocking title track and furious ‘Bouffoon Bloody Bouffoon’ its apparent that the production woes that hampered their first release are now truly dead and buried (bad pun). Apart from the familiar black metal cuts and corpse rattling croaks, Notre Dame manage to create some great heavy rocking anthems. Tracks such as ‘Vlad the Impaler’ and ‘Faust – The Ghost Rider’ will have you singing and banging away like a complete fool while the lullaby sing-a-long of ‘I Bring Nosferatu You’ shows that Metallica aren’t the only ones that can use little kiddies to summon the Sandman. And if you still aren’t convinced, this nifty little blood pack comes with some great packaging and booklet inlays and has the sex vixen Vampirella sporting her puppies on the front cover. Notre Dame, Suck On!!!!!!!
