BJF Launcher
BJF Launcher is an innovative way for users of Windows 95, 98, and NT to get to BlueJayFan Net - the site for the Toronto Blue Jays fan. It's a program that places an icon of home plate with the letters BJF in the system tray. When the user doubleclicks it, it launches the BlueJayFan Net website in the default web browser, Netscape or Internet Explorer, etc. Now isn't that easy? To learn how to get this first of its kind freeware program, read on.REQUIREMENTS
The requirements for this program are:
- Windows 95, 98, or NT
- A default web browser, such as Netscape or Internet Explorer
- The MFC runtime DLL's (should already be on your computer, but if not, download them from Microsoft or WinFiles)
INSTRUCTIONS
Before you download the zip file, please make sure you have an unzipping program, such as WinZip. If you don't you won't be able to open the file.
- Download bjlaunch.zip (12.7k) from this website. If you have trouble, try downloading the file from the mirror server.
- When prompted, choose to open the file from the current location.
- It should only take a while, and then your computer will run WinZip to unzip the file. If you chose to save the file to disk, find the file and doubleclick it.
- Just follow the instructions in WinZip to unzip the file. On the unzip now screen, make sure you have Display file icons after unzipping checked.
- After the file has been unzipped, it'll open the folder that you have unzipped the program to, and you'll find the bjlaunch.exe and bjlaunch.htm files.
- To run the program, just doubleclick bjlaunch.exe. You're done!
- If you need help with the program, just right-click the icon in the system tray, and choose the Help command. It'll open up the Help documentation. If the Help command is disabled, or grayed-out, it means either you have deleted the bjlaunch.htm file, or you have moved it to a different directory. Without the file, you won't be able to get Help.
- Happy Launching!
CREDITS
BJF Launcher was made exclusively for BlueJayFan Net by Richard A. Bish. The license agreement can be found in the Help documentation, and the complete copyright info for BJF Launcher can be found there, as well as on the About screen of the program.
This program is based on Quick Browser, also made by Mr. Bish. Quick Browser is a unique program that places the default web browser's icon in the system tray, and with a single click opens the browser to your home page. It is very simple to use and I recommend it to everyone who wants an easier way to run their browser. You can find out more about Quick Browser here.
