One of the extraordinary features of the town of Goldfield was its development from a few tents and some dugouts and flimsy shacks in early 1904 to a small metropolis by the latter part of 1907, complete with many large stores, brick and frame office buildings, a large number of beautiful homes, and a population of about 20,000 inhabitants. All this was achieved in a matter of four years; 1904 - 1907.
