|
Date: |
THURSDAY 26 AUGUST 2004 |
Time: |
7pm - 11pm |
Venue: |
The Dutch Master - departing from Tower Pier click here for map Those who wish can meet me at Tower
Hill tube station (District and Circle Lines, Zone 1) near the ticket office
between 6.30 and 6.40pm. You can also use Docklands Light Railway to Tower
Gateway (but I will not be meeting people at this station). If you
prefer you can make your own way to the departure point, where we will
assemble at 6.45pm for boarding about 5 to 10 minutes later, for a prompt 7pm
departure. There is a map on the tickets. |
Program: |
To start the party
off, members of a Spanish Flamenco group ("Ilusion Flamenca" - http://www.ilusionflamenca.co.uk/)
and The Beija-Flor (Portuguese for "Humming Bird") Dance Group (see
http://www.braziliandance.co.uk/)
will give performances of Flamenco and Lambada respectively. Because the boat
is too tall to pass under most bridges in Central London, it will go east, as
far as Greenwich and probably the Thames Flood Barrier. There will be a cash
bar, but no food will be available. |
Ticket: |
I will be selling tickets in person in advance at my events. Alternatively you can e-mail me at bealgordon@hotmail.com, or call me on 020-8892 6865, and I will give you my address so that you can send me a cheque. To encourage people to buy their tickets early, and make it easier to organise, I will be selling tickets at the special price of 6 pounds from now until the end of May. The cost will increase to 7 pounds on 1 June, and to 8 pounds on 1 July. From 1 August, the price will be 9 pounds 50 pence. In the unlikely event that tickets are still available on the night, these will cost 12 pounds, and you may have to wait until everyone else has boarded. Last time the tickets ran out two weeks before the event, as there were only 210 tickets available, so this time I am using a larger boat, holding 350 passengers. The high price of tickets on the night is to encourage you to buy your tickets earlier: it would be chaotic if most people left it until the night of the cruise to buy tickets, and the departure would be delayed. The only reason that I can afford to sell tickets so cheaply in the early weeks is that I know from past experience that many people will leave it late to buy their tickets, thereby subsidising those who have bought theirs much earlier. So buy now and get a bargain! |
