The Male is on left of picture, Note the female on right colours are always much paler,she is showing she is ready for breeding by the blackness of her beak, the males beak turns pearly white except for the tip which goes dark red.
This variety also comes with black & orange heads(some parts of the world discribe the orange headed type as being yellow headed)
This variety is a Gouldian Finch Mutation and the finch in picture is a male, you will notice the lack of red on the tip of is beak which would suggest he is not ready for breeding.
Again you will find this variety with black & orange heads as well as the red headed variety
This beautiful bird is one of my faverites, the one pictured is a male, the orange headed white breasted yellow is also a striking bird.
