The Georgia Poultry Justice Alliance (GPJA) is a coalition of environmentalists, poultry growers, catchers, processing plant workers, immigrant groups, members of the religious community, labor organizations and individuals working to develope leaders amongst these diverse groups to teach the skills needed to understand, convey and address the many consequences of a vertically integrated system of poultry production on Georgia's natural and human resources. Education and under-standing will empower all of these constituencies to work together to help protect, preserve and where necessary restore the environment, health, and social well-being of Georgia. The GPJA plans to accomplish these goals through a state-wide program of outreach, eucation and training to help address the numerous environmental, public health, social, economic and legislative consequences of Georgia's poultry industry structure. |

Convening a Congressional public hearing in Atlanta to discuss the issues dealt with by each constituent group | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Holding gatherings throughout the statewhich provide a forum to educate the communityon the harmful impact of the poultry industry on Georgia's communities | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Presenting testimony before administrative agencies and regulatory bodies | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Meeting with State representatives, members of the Department of Natural Resources, United States Congresspersons, and other decision makers in order to educate them about the many issues involved. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
