No that's not rain, just Showers
of Blessing!
Why don't you come inside and
shelter for awhile? You are most welcome and who knows
you may even go away from here
with a blessing yourself.
We can talk over a "cuppa"
and feel the warmth of each others friendship. I would like that, so please
don't go, stay a little while
and soak in some of the blessings that are available to us all.
Relax feel at home here,
for this is a home where Jesus lives and reigns.
He wants to get to know you
too. Please let me introduce you to my Friend JESUS.
I first met the Lord Jesus
Christ on the 7th March 1976
I must admit that I was in
a pretty sorry state at that time, having gone through a marital break
up.
I had a teenage daughter and
a little son barely twenty one months old.
I had always believed in God
and even went to Sunday School as a child and I also went to a Church organized
Youth Group.
I was a good living type of
person so I thought that made me a Christian. No one told me that there
was more to it than that.
This is one of the reasons
I am telling you this now, to let you know that it is not enough to be
just a "good" person.
God gave us all a free will
for a purpose and so that means we have a decision to make.
The most IMPORTANT decision
we will ever make in our entire life.
A decision that will either
give us ETERNAL LIFE or send us to HELL FOREVER.
Strong words I know,
but that's just the way it is my friend and because I care
about you, I am telling you the truth.
God has made the way so easy
for us and yet so many people try to make it so difficult.
Are they afraid to admit that
they can make mistakes and need God's help? Or is it perhaps
the fact that they worry
about what other people will think if they become a Christian?
But wait, can I get you anything,
something to eat maybe? Another "cuppa perhaps? No, you want me to
go on?
Okay, well as I told you I
was in the depths of despair when my Marriage broke up, you see I had been
married before
that too and that also
ended in divorce, but I won't bore you with all the details, enough to
say that I was brokenhearted
that this could happen to ME
once again, when all I really wanted in life was to be happily married
with a family.
Wrong choices in life can make
our lives very unhappy and I had certainly made enough wrong choices.
As I told you I considered
myself to be a Christian so at times I did actually pray, but looking back
now they were
usually selfish prayers.
I talked to God when I had a problem and forgot about Him when things were
going okay.
Can you identify with that
I wonder? You don't have to tell me if you don't want to, but perhaps
you could think about that
one later on when you are alone.
I was at my lowest point in
my life and so I decided to pray in earnest this time, I really meant business,
and I asked God to help me
get my life sorted out.
Well He did just that
and I went back to Church, had my baby boy Dedicated to the Lord
and on that very same day,
I made the decision to ask
the Lord Jesus Christ into my life and to take control of it from then
on.
I must admit it was the most
sensible decision I have ever made in my life.
I won't go into all the details
of my learning to trust the Lord except to say that, What He says
He will do,
HE WILL DO!
He took control of my life
because I ASKED HIM TO of my own free will and I also asked
Him to keep my heart
until the one of His choosing
came along, if it was His Will that I should have another partner
and then to let me know beyond
any shadow of a doubt that he was of His choosing and not mine.
On 4th March 1978 I met my
Bill and I knew beyond any shadow of a doubt that he was the man God had
chosen for me.
Bill became a Born again Christian
just five weeks before we married. We celebrated our Twentieth fifth
Wedding Anniversary on the 3rd March 2004. Praise the Lord
for His goodness and His Faithfulness.
I can honestly say God could
not have chosen anyone better for my life long partner.
We are "Soul Mates" and love
one another very dearly.
I am so glad I left the choice
to
HIM
What, you want to know
more? Well that's great but how about we do have some refreshments
first,
so while I go and get the coffee
and cake how about you just sit here and think about what I have
been telling you, and if you decide that you too want to hand your life
over to Jesus and make Him Lord of your life,
here is a little prayer that
will make it easier for you but remember my friend,
this prayer has to be said
from your heart. Not just to please me.
God knows your heart you know.
Dear Father God, I know that
I'm a sinner and have been running my own life.
I believe that Jesus died on
the cross for my sin. I repent of my sin and ask for
your forgiveness.
And, Jesus Christ, I now invite
you to come into my life as my personal Saviour.
By Faith I accept your gift
of forgiveness and Eternal Life. With your help I am
willing to follow and obey
you as Lord of my life.
For your glory, help me to
grow to my fullest potential as a Christian.
Thank you Father, for hearing
and answering my prayer.
In Jesus Name I ask this.
Amen
If you just said that prayer
from your heart and you really meant it, then there are
other things that you need
to know.
Firstly you do not have to
repeat that prayer every day.
God heard you the first time
and He has accepted you as His child.
He has been waiting for you
to do that for so long.
In the Holy Bible it tells
us in Galatians 3. 26."
For you are all the children
of God by faith in Jesus Christ."
Secondly It is a good idea
to go and tell someone you know that you have just made Jesus Christ the
Lord of your life.
Matthew 10. 32,33 tells
us, in Jesus' own words, "
Whoever acknowledges me before
men, I will also acknowledge hibefore my Father in Heaven,
But whoever disowns me before
men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven."
Thirdly now that Jesus is your
Saviour you have access to God at any time and you can talk to Him in prayer
and know that He hears you.
1John 3.22 tells us "And whatever we ask, we receive of Him,
because we keep His commandments,
and do those things that are pleasinin His sight."
It is important also to find
yourself a good Bible believing Church, that believes that Jesus is the
Son of God,
that He died for remission
of our sins, and that He was raised on the third day and is now seated
at the right hand of God.
Also that by our believing
in and accepting Jesus as our Lord and Saviour we have the promise of Eternal
Life. John 3.16
For God so loved the world
that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should
not perish,
but have
ETERNAL LIFE.
I see you have been doing some
reading while I was out of the room.
I always like to leave literature
like that lying around just in case someone decides to say the Salvation
prayer
and wants a little scriptural
backup *smile*. I hope that you found it helpful. I have plenty
more of that if you want it,
but better still why not get
yourself a Bible and start to read for yourself from the Word of God.
I warn you though, once you
pick it up it's hard to put down again.
\
Now how about those refreshments?
I see the shower has stopped
and the sun is shining,
so it might be nice if we take
them out into the garden and enjoy the fresh air.
We can still talk if you want
to,
I have so much I can share
with you.
