South Indian music is not only a popular form of art but also deemed to have enormous spiritual value. This form of music has come down the ages by word of mouth and through great personal endeavors of venerable scholars, pundits and saints of Carnatic Music. The modern times have, of course, seen this art in the form of printed material and audiocassettes. But all these techniques necessitate the physical presence of Guru or teacher to provide the printed material the real vocal life.

 

With great pleasure we wish to introduce the Computer age by means of our unique software to the great South Indian Carnatic Music

 

We have exploited the accurate mathematical capabilities of today’s computer systems to reproduce the infinitely varying and subtle but accurate nuances of the great traditional art of Carnatic Music.

 

The initial packages of lessons are for beginner. The print material is displayed on the screen and the Computer directly plays the sounds. The display matter can be in any of the four South Indian Languages besides English and Hindi. The enormous flexibility of pitches and frequencies and the ability to sing alongwith the display not only provide a relaxed approach to practicing repeatedly but also at once will. The color scheme adds a touch of flavor to the dreary task of practicing with the machine besides helping in memory retention.

 

With even very young children begin introduced to the computer today certainly provide the necessary impetus to the dwindling student population of Carnatic music besides learning, constant practice with this package can do a world of good to voice levels of even practicing musician.
