As a polio survivor, I have had to make numerous adjustments to my lifestyle for many years. As an occupational therapist at Kaiser-Permanente in Southern California I had the opportunity to develop and teach educational programs to several hundred polio survivors over a period of several years. Much of the material was gleaned from solutions I applied in my own life, and I also learned a great deal from the participants in the classes.
Each month there will be a new topic relating to conserving your energy, simplifying your work, protecting your joints, or modifying your surroundings - anything which might help to lessen the symptoms of pain and fatigue.
