Let me take a moment to introduce myself....

To pretty much everyone I'm known as "Gramma Jan". This delightful nickname came about when my grand-daughter & I were involved in a parent/child interactive pre-school program several years ago. The children couldn't pronounce my last name & the teachers wouldn't allow an adult to be addressed by their first name. (Old fashioned manners still prevail!!!). So, the parents asked if their children could call me "Gramma Jan" also. Naturally, I said "Yes" and the rest is pretty much history.

     I still volunteer at the elementary school my grand-daughter attended when she was in California. As I walk down the halls it's still "Hi, Gramma Jan" from one and all (teachers, too!) #1 Gramma Jan rule -- don't walk by without getting/giving a hug/kiss 'cause Gramma lives on Hugs & Kisses! Really gives me that warm & fuzzy feeling that we all enjoy!

     I'm a huge Disney fan (& collector). I do a lot of "artsy-fartsy" craft projects; both at home & at school with "my kids". I also enjoy working in my garden & deep sea fishing for salmon off the California Coast.

      I'm fairly new to computers -- although I used them on the job; I got my first home computer just over a year ago. Up until recently I used it only for email and craft projects. Surprizingly, I'm just now getting into "surfing the net" and was convinced by a new - but dear - friend that I needed to have a website.

       Though I had a large family growing up it's pretty much just my Mother & I now. Whoops! Let's not forget my cousin -- she'd shoot me if I left her out. I grew up knowing (and being old enough to remember) 4 generations of my family including 2 sets of great-grandparents.

       I have been in a committed relationship for almost 18 years. And Grampa & Gramma's lives totally revolve around their grandchildren, Merici - nearly 11, Tanos almost 6 and the baby Josiah is just 4 1/2 months old.
