CLASS OF 1964
Then......and.......Now
Imagine my surprize when arriving at my 40th High School Reunion (August 21, 2004), I discovered I had a second Senior Picture!! I must have had a "senior moment".  The picture on my home page and on my guestbook below was from Homestead High School in Sunnyvale, CA.  And, for years, I'd forgotten the one above which was from El Camino High School in Sacramento, CA.  My father worked for the phone company and we transferred around a lot.  I started my Senior Year at Homestead and graduated from El Camino ---- with a few other Sacramento area schools thrown in between ----including El Camino twice! (We were in a new school district and the school hadn't been completed!!)
When I first saw this sign....I thought....
"Oh great, El Camino's now a continuation high school!"
Such a delight to find out that a Fundamental High School is an accelerated program & a "Back to Basics" learning system!!!
This can't possibly be my old home - - - Where are Daddy's tree roses on the walkway and when did the corner trees get sooooooo huge??!!  I guess nothing stays the same after 40 years!
This is most definitely NOT the entrance to the old "Arden Hills Swim & Tennis Club"!  It is now the "Arden Hills Country Club & Spa" - WOW!

Beth Durgin, was the first person to welcome me to El Camino.  Due to a tragedy on February 12, 1965, that affected both of our familes, I've had no contact with her in the insuing years.  It was a mixed blessing to see her again.  Hopefully, the healing that finally began for me will continue......
