This branch of the Whitman Family Tree is in thanks to the help of Ross Whitman.

Jacob Whitman was the son of John Whitman (4) and Mary/Mercy Whitman (4). He along with his family sailed from Massachusetts, U.S.A., on the "Charming Molly", to Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia.
Jacob was born on October 14, 1757, in Stow, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, U.S.A. Jacob's wife, Anna/Annie Spinney was the daughter of John Spinney and Johanna/Joanna Roberts. She was born on August 15, 1763, in Argyle, Yarmouth, N.S. They were married on October 21, 1784 in Annapolis, Nova Scotia.
He settled on a portion of the Whitman grant near Rosette, Annapolis Co., N.S. He died there at the age of 79 years.

According to Farnam, "in April, 1834, Jacob became a Christian, and joined the Congregational Church in Liverpool, N.S.; in 1843, he was chosen deacon and licensed to preach, and in April, 1846, was ordained and took charge for many years of the Congregational churches of Cornwallis and Falmouth; residence, Manchester, N.S."
His wife Susan was an active spiritual worker in the church of Christ; at all times she was ready for every good work; she was faithful unto death."

According to the research from the John Whitman Book, The Annapolis Valley Whitmans, and the Church Of Latter Day Saints web site, the last son of Rev. Jacob Whitman was named Henry Charles Whitman. But, according to the information that was sent to me by Ross Whitman a descendant of Jacob Whitman, which are from the Mountain Cemetery records plus the Obituary of Charles Henry Whitman, I have changed the name back to Charles Henry Whitman.
