This is a Sundial that was donated to the Whitman
Cemetery in South Williamston, Nova Scotia.
Around the 1870's a James P. Cunningham moved from Kentville to Bridgetown. His wife was a
Whitman from Lawrencetown and they had three daughters. One of his daughters left instructions
for a Sundial to be placed in the Whitman Cemetery and left a generous amount for this to be done.
The Sundial is a simple piece, carefully engraved and very well made.
The cemetery is a picturesque setting - a pretty scene in itself, and with pleasant views.
