II INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ON COCHINEAL AND NATURAL DYES

The Congress will undertake the next points:

1. History, economy and uses of cochineal and natural dyesstuff.

2. Agronomic and biologic aspects of the cochineal insect, its hosts and other factors.

3. Traditional dyeing of natural fibers and other material (handcrafts).

4. Industrialization and market of pigments for use in food, cosmetics, drugs, art and other.

 

INSTRUCTIVE FOR ABSTRACTS

The information of every abstract will be responsability of the author (s).

Format: use Word 6.0 or RTF

Length: two letter sheets with single line and Arial Narrow 12 pts.

Title: Capital, bold and centre.

Author(s): one line below the title, use capital and centre; add full name of author(s), start with last name, then the university or company, postal address and electronic mail.

Abstracts content: introduction, methodology, results, discussion, conclusions and bibliography. Please, use scientific format and may include figures and tables.

The papers will be send by postal mail, printed and with an electronic file or in attachment by e-mail: aviguera@cucba.udg.mx and/or portillo@cencar.udg.mx

Deadline for abstracts: Agoust 15, 2002.

ORAL PRESENTATIONS

20 minutes for conference plus 5 minutes for questions and answers.

For oral presentations will be slide, transparecy and computer projectors, video VHS and spanish-english, english-spanish translations.

 

POSTERS PRESENTATIONS

For this case will be available an area of 1.20 m wide and 1.50 m high per poster.

 

EXPO STANDS

For products, equipments, books, handcrafts, natural dyestuff, etc., related to the congress.

If you want to show something, please contact the orginizers.

The Cochineal Working Group belongs to the International Technical Cooperation Network on Cactus (FAO-ONU). One of the objetives of the CactusNet is to support and carry out meetings to contribute the interchange on cochineal information among producers, researchers, traders, students, industrialists and other. Therefore we invite to the people related or interested to participate in this important meeting, to approach several themes on this natural resource, in order to accord commitments and actions that tend to the solution of the current situation.
