Well, it's been a year and a half since I last updated!! And I think that this site is long overdue for a statement: I am no longer continuing this web site, Grandanor: Remembering the Romanovs. I have included a new site in the webring, but aside from that, this site isn't really going anywhere. I am not continuing to send out newsletters to Grandanor Society members. No new memorials are planned. And soon, if I get to it, I may clean up this site and "archive" it. I may keep it online as it is, without any future updates. Suffice it to say that for the moment, Grandanor is online but closed without hope of further restoration. :) It's been fun to do this, but perhaps its time is at an end. Dasvidanya!

More late updates! Both Internet and hard drive failures have been resolved, and the online tribute to Tsar Nicholas II is coming on May 1! The deadline to send in a written dedication, poem, or other contribution (see the site) is April 30, 2001. If you're interested in offering a tribute or just linking, please visit! More memorials are coming in June, so stay tuned! The address will also be changed, so take note of that as well.

I'm sure you're all wondering why updates are so late; well, hard drive crashes do that. :( I will respond as quickly as possible to e-mails, and will be making general updates soon, as well as some graphical changes around the site.

Attention all Go! Homepage owners: Go.com has recently stated that it is going out of business, as it was. Its mail service will remain, but its features - including homepages - will be removed. If you own a site on Go.com, it appears as if the pages are already being removed, or have been. Update all of your links, and quickly switch to another free web host if you want to keep your site up! Read the entire Go.com FAQ here, and sign up with FreeYellow, Geocities, or another choice that best fits your needs. FreeWebSpace.net offers power & advanced searches for the best web host, and you can ask questions in their forums. The main reason that this is on here - a Romanov/Anastasia site - is that many such sites have not been moved from Go. So move them - fast! :)

On another note, Dale Evans Rogers (1912-2001), known as the "Queen of the West," died on February 7. The Roy Rogers/Dale Evans official homepage has a memorial online, as well as links to poems in her memory.

A happy New Year - and new Millennium! This year will bring the 100th anniversiary of Anastasia's birth. It has also brought some big updates around Grandanor. To begin with, the entire Links page has been revised! No more confusing banners - and that offers a lot more links! (Tip: if you scroll down, you'll find three banners you can link me with!) Then, Grandanor Webring has been completely changed. Stop by the webring page for more info.

But that's not all! Problems with HTMLGear's (formerly Guestworld) guestbook forced a change in guestbooks. The new guestbook, hosted by Bravenet, has a new look and even background music. You can still read the old one by clicking here.

Even that's not it. There's a list of updated things below - including the late Photo Album update!

Anastasia FAQ - New questions added!
A poem, "In the Basement," by Ashley, was added to the Poetry page.
Photo Album - Late photo album updates.
Links - the Links page was updated, with all new links and a new layout! No more confusing banners! :)
Archives - Updates are now archived according to month, since September 2000.
Award - a Site of the Month was awarded, with the congrats going to Send Paris My Love.
Webring - HIH Grand Duchess Tatiana & Grandanor Webrings merge! The new Grandanor Webring has changed, too.
