Tatiana/Grandanor Webrings To all persons interested in the Grandanor and HIH Grand Duchess Tatiana Nikolaievna Webrings:

The Yahoo! WebRing forms of the webrings Grandanor: Remembering the Romanovs and HIH Grand Duchess Tatiana Nikolaievna are to be removed and no longer valid. The two will be combined into one webring, the Grandanor Webring, starting February 5, 2001.

Some of you have most likely noticed that the site that formerly hosted the HIH Grand Duchess Tatiana Nikolaievna Webring - Tsar: The Lost World of the Romanovs - is no longer on the Internet. Thhe owner, Ella Evans, will no longer be running the site or the webring, and so I (Victoria Bostwell) will be taking over. I have decided to merge the two for a number of reasons, some of which are listed here:

1) Both the Grandanor & Tatiana Webrings are nearly identical in terms of the sites they include, so there is little point in continuing both, when one larger webring would accomplish the same goal;

2) Since Yahoo!'s acquisition of Webring.com, they are now requiring everyone who wishes to add a site to a webring to have a Yahoo! ID. Some potential ring members might not want Yahoo! IDs;

3) Yahoo! WebRing's new management system offers limited options for "ringmasters" (ring managers), making minor changes a painful process;

4) The new Yahoo! WebRing does not allow ringmasters to create their own HTML code; rather it relies on a JavaScript navigation bar that is barely customizable. Not everyone supports JavaScript, and not everyone wants identical banners.

For these reasons, a new Grandanor Webring will now be implemented (starting 02/05/01). The new webring is a little different from the old one. There is a different HTML code that you have to include (it looks nearly identical to the old one, but less messy), you have to make up a SpecialID (password) and e-mail me whenever you want to change your information, and I will be handling the entire webring personally. But these changes have been designed to be the easiest route possible for you.

If you had a site in one of the old rings and it wasn't added to the new one, you either didn't respond to my notification e-mail by February 5, or your e-mail address was invalid. If you didn't respond, then I deleted you from the old rings, and didn't add you to the new one. You can add your site again by filling out the form here, and adding the proper HTML code after you get your confirmation e-mail.
