She was a lonely little girl,
In a home that had no love.
Her mommy was almost always high,
And her daddy was never home.

She just sat in her little corner,
Because she was always alone.
People would often come and go
Never seeming to notice her sad face.

She had to find her own food,
The fridge had only mommy’s booze.
The last time she wore a clean dress
Was when the state lady came to call.

Although they would never hit her,
No tender loving did she ever see.
It was as though she was invisible,
Since they hardly ever spoke her name.

Her young soul was slowly dying
As it was a love starved broken heart.
Every night she cried herself to sleep,
Wondering why she had ever been born.

One day The Lord sent her some angels
Who gave her wings to fly like a dove.
She flew away with them to Heaven,
Finally that lonely little girl knew love.
